What is BLAZE?  
 
Blaze is an Horizon 2020 project realizing a Biomass Low cost Advanced Zero Emission small-to-medium scale integrated gasifier fuel cell combined heat and power plant
Due to the covid19 emergency, the latest BLAZE project meeting was held online, however this was the chance for partners to report on their respective progress across the work packages.
  • Tests regarding biomass selection and characterization have been completed and has been reported on D2.1 that can be found on BLAZE web site.
  • SoA of contaminants for SOFC has been completed and has been reported on D3.2 that can be found on BLAZE web site, and tests with Solid Oxide Fuel cells have started in February
  • Different plant layout have been analysed considering different operating parameters and operating scenarios  and has been reported on D4.1 that can be found on BLAZE web site
  • Techno-Social-Environmental analysis is undergoing, as well as preliminary market study
  • Stakeholder platform on CHP from biomass about to be launched
Deliverables available
BLAZE and Smart CHP launch the platform BIOCOGEN 2030
 
BIOCOGEN 2030 will foster knowledge exchange, gather feedback on R&D activities and enhance networking in the area, with the overall mission of increasing the share of bioenergy in the cogeneration market by the end of the decade. The forum will focus on critical topics influencing the up-take of innovative technologies and solutions, with a special focus on: biomass characterisation and suitability; process developments; market assessment; standardisation issues, and non-technological barriers.

This initiative arises from the collaboration of the projects BLAZE and Smart CHP
