On the 5th of October 2020, the chair of the Committe for Industy, Trade and Tourism of the Italian Senate (Senator Gianni Girotto) organized a workshop named: “An industrial strategy for green hydrogen

Description: The workshop intends to evaluate, through the contribution of academics and industry experts, the scientific, technical and implementation aspects on the matter of “green” hydrogen. The aim is to provide the ground basis for a national industrial strategy which also eyes the chances offered by the upcoming EU recovery plan (Next Generation EU).

During the event, Professor Enrico Bocci from USGM participated to the discussion and was able to introduce the audience to the BLAZE project.

He explained the role that technologies such as BLAZE (waste biomass for fuel cell CHP) can play thanks to their ability to both increase energy from renewables and reduce emissions. These characteristics thus become crucial in reaching the targets set for 2030, 2040 and 2050.
In particular, prof. Bocci illustrated how the waste biomass, hydrogen and fuel cells sector is central to the current development plans for industry and renewable plants.
